Say goodbye to un-recyclable footwear thanks to its construction without the use of glue or stitching, each component of our modular shoe is recyclable and easily interchangeable.
Outsole:
With our soles being the foundation of our craft, for the modular shoe, instead of making superfluous tooling for a new outsole design, we designed the Hades sole protector, so that it could be evolved in to part of the fully modular shoe. This means that the removable outsole is also usable as a sole protector for your own trainers. However in this assembly of the modular shoe, the rivet locators have been pierced (which can be done with household tools), for the shoe uppers to attach to.
Shoe uppers:
Made from salvaged roofing rubber, this reused material shows industrial work patterns celebrating an ethical story of its past-life and its rescue of end-of-life. When buildings have to be re-roofed, this materials would have otherwise have got scrapped in to landfill. The leather-like material is as durable, as good-looking and it's guilt-free.
Slipper:
Partnering with Material Response, we proudly present the denim slipper. Reclaimed jeans and yoga mats have been transformed into a comfortable and unique style using novel footwear pattern making techniques.
